Funny you mentioned Laduree, I just got back from NYC and demanded my friends to standing in line with me. They are worth the $2.70 considering they are flown in fresh from France daily (since they don't have a kitchen to make them, right now). :)
Hehe yea fortunately Joanne was more than happy to join me despite being on crutches and found them worth it after a taste. Are they your favorite source of macarons? I haven't tried Pierre Herme or Sadaharu Aoki yet so I'm curious how they compare :).
How wonderful that you got to visit Laduree in NYC! My first exposure to Laduree macarons was this past spring in Paris -- I was pregnant which meant I consumed my fair share guilt-free. They are so delectable and worth every penny!
Liz - congrats on your pregnancy (or baby if you've given birth by now =D) and yes, definitely worth it! My first Laduree AND macaron experience was in Paris, too, on the Champs Elysee so I could not wait to get my Laduree fix again.
Emma - well it's Wednesday already in many parts of the world ;p. yes, I did feel quite lucky despite the hefty price once I took a bite (and another and another) hehe.
I´ve tried so many macarons and asides the ones my husband does, I think Laduree´s are the best. My favorite is the chocolate macaron, so classic but delicious.
I just baked my own macarons last weekend (which I documented on my blog)...I LOVE macarons! So glad there is one (sort of) near me. Just a 1-hour plane ride away! But of course, hotel rooms in NYC are so expensive...so my macaron trips will COST me!! LOL!! I think I will stick to baking my own for now, and enjoy your Laduree NYC pics!
I love hearing from you all! Please leave me a message if you have questions, advice, or just to let me know you stopped by. Your feedback is always very much appreciated. Thanks! <3 Xiaolu
How much is one? I'm sure you're very happy. ;)
