Today I'm giving away an Escali Primo Digital Multifunctional Scale. I've had mine for over 3 years and find it indispensable for everything from macarons to cake pops (I make my cake balls 32 g each) to cake layers (I weigh my pans to make sure they have equal amounts of batter). I'm offering you the same scale I use at home 'cause I love it's compact size, light weight, and durability. A scale is especially useful for consistently measuring ingredients that are easily compacted (like flour) and for cooking for foreign recipes without having to convert measurement units (this scale can be switched between grams and ounces). As I mentioned above, I've had mine over 3 years and have yet to run out of power or have any error even once.

ReplyDelete383.richards@gmail.com
Those cookies on top are AWESOME...fudgy heaven! I'd use the scale for macaros!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to try macarons
ReplyDeleteI'd use it to measure out identically-proportioned ratios (but vastly different quantities) of all my meals' ingredients so that my cat could eat exactly what I'm eating, with me.
ReplyDeleteJust kidding. I think.

Amazing pictures :)))
ReplyDeleteI'd use the scale to measure things like cake flour, cocoa powder more accurately. These days, many of the recipes I try are from all over the world and instead of trying to convert to US measurements, it makes sense to just weigh them out.
ReplyDeleteI follow you via RSS feed.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your subscriber count milestone! :) I would use the digital scale to measure flour, butter, egg, etc to bake a pound cake!

ReplyDeleteBeen vying for a scale! Would definitely make legit macarons!
ReplyDeleteI follow you on twitter and I like you facebook and I love your blog. And I love you! But I still can't win that scale :-D Love the recipe shout out. I'm totally eyeing your smores cupcakes!
ReplyDeleteI would like to make more of Alice Medrich's recipes, as all of her things are in weight rather than volume measurements.

ReplyDeleteAnd I would love to cook macarons with a digital scale. Mine is getting out of whack and no longer gives correct readings...
Maybe I'd finally get brave and try macaroons...
ReplyDeleteI love the shout outs, can't decide what should be made first though the rasp lemonade bars look frisky!!
ReplyDeleteThanks...
Ooo, my husband and I have been coveting a good digital scale for ages. He's into very fine measurements for his bread-baking, and I'd happily use it for better control over our ancient analog scale. I bet I could do smaller quantities of modelling chocolate that way.

ReplyDeleteXiaolu, You sure inspire a lot of people, including me:) If I won the scale I would try, once again, to make macarons~inspired by yours!
ReplyDeleteI am a fan and subscribe to your blog through email:)
ReplyDeleteNice digital kitchen scale! What a great recipe round-up!!
ReplyDeleteI've been struggling with baking anything more complicated than cookies, and I've started to think it might have something to do with how much the proportions can vary using measuring cups. I've heard that they can vary by as much as 50%! Maybe, this will give me the confidence and ability to actually start pulling off some cakes.
ReplyDeleteI follow you everywhere already. FB, twitter and email. Will tweet about this giveaway too. I would use the scale to make Truffles
ReplyDeleteHow great to see how you inspire your readers! Not just to read and drool over your posts, but to pick up the mixer and bowl and - at least attempt to - recreate it.
ReplyDeleteI would use it to weigh out my ingredients. Sometimes recipes are in grams and it would be nice to be able to still use them
ReplyDeleteOh and I'm following you on twitter as @ATPerez
ReplyDeleteI always wanted a digital scale... sadly I already spent all the kitchen gadget money...:(
ReplyDeleteI already like you on facebook
ReplyDeleteI follow you on twitter too...:)
ReplyDeleteI have this scale and it is an indispensable gadget in my kitchen too.
ReplyDeletewith this scale it'll be so much easier for me to make chocolate desserts cuz recipes always have chocolate in ounces!
ReplyDeletespecifically though if i win this im def gonna make alice's chocolate chip cookies from sweet savory life! i heard her cookies are hard to beat! and ive been on the hunt for a good ccc recipe!
What are the odds I can win another giveaway by you? Probably 1/2 of a %, but hey, I've seen it happen lol I would use this scale to measure everything in baking, since the current scale I have is a little off at times, and I don't trust it completely. I'd start with a pue vanilla cake :)
ReplyDeleteI like you on facebook and would love to win this scale!! That is the exact one I have been looking at!!
ReplyDeleteThat kitchen scale looks perfect for making anything with chocolate... I like to use chocolate wafers but I'm awful at guessing at weights in oz so when a recipe calls for x ounces of chocolate, I always have to weight it out. I really want to try this white chocolate frosting recipe I have, but replace the white chocolate (which I find too sweet, usually) with some nice dark chocolate.
ReplyDeleteI'd bake bread (or get a lot more adventurous than I have been with it).
ReplyDeleteikkinlala AT yahoo DOT ca
I've always wanted a kitchen scale! I would use it for cakes, cookies, cupcakes, or pretty much anything that would need precise measurements. I would so finally be able to try those recipes that measure in grams that I'm too timid to convert.
ReplyDeleteFB fan!

ReplyDeleteI think I'd cook a lot more savory meals (and not just dessert) with the use of a scale. Thanks Xiaolu!

The kitchen scale is one of the most-used devices in the kitchen! I need one so badly, I recently moved and had to sell mine. I use it for weighing basic ingredients for accuracy, especially when it comes to baking.

ReplyDeleteI just downloaded a recipe for prune and cinnamon bars from 'Hot from my oven'--it uses weight measurements and I don't own a scale, so I would use it for that! :)
ReplyDeletegeologychica(at)yahoo(dot)com
I would love to use this digital scale on some baking recipes that are in a cookbook that I own. Each recipe has at least 3 or more ingredients measured by weight. With a scale I be able to actually use the cookbook. They are all for cookies, muffins and cakes. So I most likely start with a simple chocolate chip cookie and learn from there. Awesome giveaway!I hope I answered your question specific enough :).
