Both P and I have a great love of well-acted, thought-provoking, and/or fun movies and TV series. Although I've only taken to mentioning this on the blog recently, it's a passion of mine nearly on par with food and music. Hopefully some of you feel the same because I simply can't resist sharing the video above. It's a retrospective that artfully weaves scenes from 230 films of 2011 to remind us of the incredible ways this medium can uplift, excite, provoke, and transport us...even if just for a few hours!
And wanting to look forward as well as backwards, I've also included trailers for 2 of my most highly anticipated movies this season: Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. What are some others you all are excited to see? I'd love to hear what's on your radar in the comments!
Oh and in case you didn't recognize her, check out this comparison of Rooney Mara (the actress who plays the main character in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) before and after her makeover for this role. Would you have recognized this as the same girl? (I sure didn't...) I'll never doubt the transformative power of makeup, hair dye, and facial piercings again 8p!

I love "the Girl With The Dragon tattoo"!
ReplyDeleteCheers,

Did you see the original "The girl with the dragon tattoo" films"? I've seen those and they are awesome. I didn't realise that they made a remake of that Swedish trilogy...
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Rosa
I am looking forward to see the Girl With The Dragon tattoo!
ReplyDeleteAlso, there's a movie I want to see, but haven't had the time to. It's Never let me go, based on a novel!
I have read the entire series of the Girl with the dragon tattoo. Nothing like that has ever been written before esp the heroine - lisabeth Salandar. I cannot wait for the movie and it sounds very very promising
ReplyDeleteI am also a movie buff myself and shall look forward to watching some of the movies mentioned here:)
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to 'Hugo' the film adaptation of 'The Invention of Hugo Cabret' ... a graphic novel by Brian Selznick ... one of the best books for youngsters in quite a while.
ReplyDelete... the Swedish film of TGWTDT was excellent ... I frankly don't understand why it was felt we needed another version ... it will no doubt be more graphic ... again, unneeded, but it will be a showstopper!
the '11 filmography video was great! And now that my finals are over for the semester, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Girl w/ A Dragon Tattoo ... I actually read that book AFTER reading the other two. (not sure why!) But the ending was so disturbing, so I'm really interested to see how its portrayed in the movie.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great holiday season!!!
Oh...I'm looking forward to watch The girl with dragon tattoo. I already read the trilogy and I love it.
ReplyDeleteFor the actress, Rooney Mara, well, she looks different in those two photos. :)
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was very good. Definitely worth catching in the theater.
