Cold Mung Bean Noodles with Chili Vinegar Sauce (Guest Post On My Cooking Hut)

Pleasantly Numbing

One of my favorite blogs is My Cooking Hut. I first stumbled upon Leemei’s site years ago and was blown away by the gorgeous photography and mouthwatering French and Asian recipes. Naturally I’ve been a dedicated follower ever since. You can imagine then how surprised and delighted I was to receive her recent invitation to prepare a guest post. Immediately I thought to share a recently rediscovered favorite from my childhood in China. I'd love if you'd stop by her site to check out my guest post and recipe for Liang Fen 凉粉 (Cold Mung Bean Noodles). If you'd just like to grab the printable recipe, it's here. Thank you so much, Leemei, for letting me contribute to your lovely blog!

  6. Love the black bamboo-like table mat.... I really do like mung bean... hmm I'm in Japan, so I might need to scour around a bit looking for it....I used to eat this at yumcha often.. but I haven't found a good place to go here in Japan yet..compared to NYC...

I love Fen noodles..I've had them stir fried before as well.... this is one of my favorite dishes... is this that particular dish which is cut with scissors??

  17. Oh and girl japan, I'm sure this could be cut with scissors but I just used a knife. Hope this is the one you remember. You could probably try using other starch powders if you can't find mung bean. I hear that the Japanese have a similar noodle too.

  30. Hi Xiaolu!! I am ever so slowly catching up on my blog reading. The liang fen looks delicious! I've never tried anything like it before. Though they remind me of the rice rolls (not sure what the proper name is) that we eat sometimes.
