Cold Mung Bean Noodles with Chili Vinegar Sauce (Guest Post On My Cooking Hut)
One of my favorite blogs is My Cooking Hut. I first stumbled upon Leemei’s site years ago and was blown away by the gorgeous photography and mouthwatering French and Asian recipes. Naturally I’ve been a dedicated follower ever since. You can imagine then how surprised and delighted I was to receive her recent invitation to prepare a guest post. Immediately I thought to share a recently rediscovered favorite from my childhood in China. I'd love if you'd stop by her site to check out my guest post and recipe for Liang Fen 凉粉 (Cold Mung Bean Noodles). If you'd just like to grab the printable recipe, it's here. Thank you so much, Leemei, for letting me contribute to your lovely blog!

ReplyDeleteLove the black bamboo-like table mat.... I really do like mung bean... hmm I'm in Japan, so I might need to scour around a bit looking for it....I used to eat this at yumcha often.. but I haven't found a good place to go here in Japan yet..compared to NYC...
ReplyDeleteI love Fen noodles..I've had them stir fried before as well.... this is one of my favorite dishes... is this that particular dish which is cut with scissors??
Yes of course I'm hoping over there now. I would love this recipe.
ReplyDeleteOmg I looove those <3 I haven't had these in a while.. maybe I should ask my mom to make some for me haha.
ReplyDeleteI love your photo it's so beautifully taken! Going to hop over to check out your post!
ReplyDeleteThis recipe is amazing. I love how unique it is!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are gorgeous. The chili vinegar sauce should be giving a good spicy kick, perfect for the colder months.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I like this dish. The spicy kick clashes so wonderfully with the cool noodles! Beautiful photos as usual, Xiaolu!

ReplyDeleteThanks, you guys! Glad you enjoyed the guest post XD.
ReplyDeleteOh and girl japan, I'm sure this could be cut with scissors but I just used a knife. Hope this is the one you remember. You could probably try using other starch powders if you can't find mung bean. I hear that the Japanese have a similar noodle too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photography! This looks great!

ReplyDeleteHi Xiaolu!! I am ever so slowly catching up on my blog reading. The liang fen looks delicious! I've never tried anything like it before. Though they remind me of the rice rolls (not sure what the proper name is) that we eat sometimes.
